Marine Applications
Are you looking for a cost effective, easy to use buoyancy foam that will help ensure your boat meets Australian Builder's Plate or Marine Survey standards?
The only refillable, two component spray 'in-situ' foam that is Australian made and is used by major boat builders across Australia.
Foamitt
- does not contain solvents
- can be used with aluminium (see note below)
- provides sound and vibration absorption benefits.
What is Foamitt?
Foamitt is a self-contained, portable, foamed in place, two-component polyurethane foam which features a slow cure and can be cut and trimmed within approximately five minutes.
Why use Foamitt?
- Just one cubic metre of foam will provide 968 kilos of positive buoyancy. The properties of two component polyurethane foam make it perfect for buoyancy and flotation applications because compared to its volume it is extremely lightweight. Closed cell polyurethane foam, such as Foamitt, offers the best solution as it is waterproof and has a low density (typically 32 kilos).
- Foamitt is a closed cell foam.
Our foam is closed cell, which means that each cell that makes up the foam structure is completely closed off from surrounding cells which prevents it from acting like a sponge. - Foamitt adds strength to the hull to help protect against impact damage.
With Foamitt’s exceptional adhesive, shear and tensile strengths, should an accident occur, then the inclusion of foam within the craft will help limit the damage. - Foamitt provides sound and vibration absorption.
When Foamitt is used to fill cavities, it removes the hollow sound from the hull as it impacts on the water—this will make your craft much quieter. - Foamitt can be used on Aluminium boats without fear of corrosion.
Just apply a coating of Nyalic™, or approved equivalent, before applying the foam to ensure a complete dry bond with the alloy substrate.
Foamitt kits come in various sizes from 0.47m³ to 68.28m³ to suit most applications. They are easy to use and can be transported to any location in Australia or New Zealand. Foamitt is also available with a swap and refill option. Its ease of use, variable spray nozzles and cost effective application makes it the ideal product to meet your needs.
Foamitt becomes a safety feature that is always working for you and is there when you need it most.
